Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The registration substance is T based on mammalian experimental data. It is not considered to be P (or vP) or B (or vB), based on a weight of evidence assessment including a read-across substance (for B) and consideration of all relevant components for P and B. As can be seen in the modelling outputs for P and B - see attachments - although a few components are predicted to be either P or B based on the QSAR modelling, there are no components which are predicted to be both and hence this would support the conclusion by the Registrant that the overall substance is not P or B. Also a read-across substance provides reliable evidence of bioaccumulation despite similar structure/chain lengths and a high log Kow value (see attached summary of BCF data).

Likely routes of exposure:

The majority of manufacture and use for this intermediate substance takes place in a rigorously contained system with emission minimisation controls. Aside from sampling and short-term interim storage, all other life-cycle stages operate under Strictly Controlled Conditions. Therefore, exposure of humans and the environment is expected to be negligible.
