Additional information

In accordance with Section 9.3.2. of Column 2 of Annex IX of the REACH regulation, the registrant proposes to waive the testing on bioaccumulation in aquatic species, preferably fish, as the results of the chemical safety assessment indicate that the substance is not considered to have the potential to be either directly or indirectly released to the aquatic environment. However further reassurance on the behaviour of this substance is provided by means of the PBT assessment done using a weight of evidence (see section 2.3) where both EPIWIN data on components and a read-across substance fish BCF study have been considered and strongly suggest a lack of B potential for this substance can be concluded. Evidence for the lack of bioaccumulation is provided in the attached background documents reporting the prdicted values for components and a summary of the fish BCF data for the read-across alkylphenol substance.
