PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The alkylpyridines and alkylamines are biodegradable and the lower rate of biodegradation seen with the salt may be due to limitations in solubility. It is also possible that the starting materials for the registered substance contain some higher molecular weight fractions with lower rates of metabolism.

The partition coefficient of Reaction products of triethanolamine esters of polyphosphoric acids with alkyl derivatives of pyridine covers a wide range of figures typical of a UVCB. The bulk of the material has a Log Kow in the range of -0.27 to 2.5, with a outlier peak at Log Kow 3.6. There is considered to be a low risk of accumulation
