TREATMENT OF TEST MATERIAL PRIOR TO TESTING
- Treatment of test material prior to testing: prepared as sample solution see below.
- Final dilution of a dissolved solid, stock liquid or gel:
- An aliquot 0.1088/0.1102g of test item was diluted to 100 mL with purified water.
- The sample solution was shaken at approximately 30 °C for 17½ hours at 200 rpm.
- The sample solution was equilibrated at 20 °C for 3½ hours.
- The solution was filtered using a 0.2 μm Nalgene nylon membrane filter. The filtered solution was diluted to 90% of its former concentration with purified water.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The surface tension of a 90 % saturated solution of test item in water has been determined to be 64.5 ± 0.5 mN/m at 19.5 ± 0.5 °C. The test item was considered to be not surface-active.
Executive summary:

The surface tension of a 90 % saturated solution in water has been determined to be 64.5 ± 0.5 mN/m at 19.5 ± 0.5 °C, using a ring method, designed to be compatible with Method A5 Surface Tension of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008 and Method 115 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 27 July 1995. The test item was considered to be not surface-active.
