Methylcyanoacrylate did not induce an increase of the revertant rates in the plate incorporation test with Salmonella typhimurium TA 100 and TA 1535 without metabolic activation and is therefore considered not mutagenic under the conditions of this test.

In the toxicity test with Salmonella typhimurium TA 1537 without metabolic activation a dose related inhibition of the colony growth up to 43% was observed.

Methylcyanoacrylate showed the the highest bacteriotoxic potential in comparison to the other tested cyanoacrylates.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
Under the conditions of this test, methylcyanoacrylate was not mutagenic.
