Description of key information

BAB components were estimated by QSAR to have half-lives of 2.5 months in soil. Also in soil, another BAB (maybe not the same size) was less than 9% degraded in soil samples taken at a 11-year interval according to the publication of Eganhouse, 2008.

This value has been taken as a "worst-case" value for the chemical safety assessement, and shows that TAB's (and BAB) are persistent chemicals.
