Conclusion on classification

The lowest L(E)C50 value is > 100 mg/l (48-h EC50 with Daphnia magna is 3,100 mg/l) and the lowest chronic value is > 0.1 mg/l (21-d NOEC with Daphnia magna is >576 mg/l and 60 -d NOEC 400 mg/L fathead minnow, Pimephales promelas). Therefore, sodium bicarbonate does not need to be classified according to CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
