First-aid measures

General advice : No hazards which require special first aid measures.

If inhaled : Move to fresh air. Keep patient warm and at rest.

In case of skin contact : Wash off immediately with plenty of water. If on clothes, remove clothes. Wash contaminated clothing before re-use.

In case of eye contact : Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Keep eye wide open while rinsing. If eye irritation persists, consulta specialist.

If swallowed : Do NOT induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

Treatment : Treat symptomatically.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:

Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment: Water spray, Foam, Carbon dioxide (CO2)

Specific hazards during firefighting:

Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water courses.

Take measures to prevent the build up of electrostatic charge.

Dust may form explosive mixture in air.

The product is not flammable.

Burning produces noxious and toxic fumes.

Special protective equipment for firefighters: In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

Further information: Standard procedure for chemical fires.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Avoid dust formation. Avoid contact with the skin and the eyes.

Environmental precautions:

The product should not be allowed to enter drains, water courses or the soil. If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform respective authorities. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so.

Methods for cleaning up : Pick up and arrange disposal without creating dust. Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal. After cleaning, flush away traces with water. Retain and dispose of contaminated wash water.

Handling and storage

Advice on safe handling: Avoid inhalation, ingestion and contact with skin and eyes.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Avoid dust formation. Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at places where dust is formed:Take precautionary measures against static discharge.

Requirements for storage areas and containers: Store in original container. Use appropriate container to avoid environmental contamination. Keep tightly closed.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Exposure controls

Engineering measures: Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at machinery and at places where dust can be generated.

Personal protective equipment:

Respiratory protection : Respirator must be worn if exposed to dust. Half mask with a particle filter P2 (EN 143).

Hand protection : Impervious gloves. Nitrile rubber. The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the specifications of EU Directive 89/686/EEC and the standard EN 374 derived from it. The choice of an appropriate glove does not only depend on its material but also on other quality features and is different from one producer to the other. The break through time depends amongst other things on the material, the thickness and the type of glove and therefore has to be measured for each case. Gloves must be inspected prior to use. Replace when worn.

Eye protection : Wear protective gloves/ protective clothing/ eye protection/face protection. Safety glasses.

Skin and body protection : Choose body protection in relation to its type, to the concentration and amount of dangerous substances, and to the specific work-place. Lightweight protective clothing.

Hygiene measures : Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of workday. When using do not eat, drink or smoke.

Environmental exposure controls, General advice : The product should not be allowed to enter drains, water courses or the soil. If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform respective authorities. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: None known.

Chemical stability: Stable under recommended storage conditions.

Possibility of hazardous reactions: Stable under recommended storage conditions.

Conditions to avoid : None known.

Incompatible materials, Materials to avoid : Oxidizing agents

Hazardous decomposition products, Thermal decomposition: No data available

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods

Product :This material and its container must be disposed of as hazardous waste. The product should not be allowed to enter drains, water courses or the soil. Dispose of as hazardous waste in compliance with local and national regulations. According to the European Waste Catalogue, Waste Codes are not product specific, but application specific.

Contaminated packaging : Dispose of as unused product. Do not re-use empty containers.
