Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A study according to OECD 202 tested Daphnia magna STRAUS and gives an EC50 > 100000 mg/L that was obtained after 48 hours. The result relates to the nominal concentration (Toxicon AB, 2007).

Additional information

The study of Bayer Industry Services (2007) with a test according to Directive 92/69/EEC, C2 tested Daphnia magna STRAUS and gives an EC50 > 100 mg/L that was obtained after 48 hours. The result relates to the nominal concentration (Bayer Industry Services, 2007).

The study of Toxicon AB (2007) was conducted according to OECD 202 guideline. The result relates to the nominal concentration. For Daphnia magna NIVA exposed to Propylidynetrimethanol, ethoxylated, an EC50 > 10000 g/L was obtained after 48 hours (Toxicon AB, 2007).

Both study results are based on nominal test concentrations. Since the water solubility of Propylidynetrimethanol, ethoxylated, is given to be 28000 mg/L it seems to be plausible that the substance was dissolved in the highest concentration of 10000 mg/L. Therefore, the result of Toxicon AB (2007) is taken to describe the key parameter "short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates".
