Description of key information

Two separate TGD-approved handbooks agree that the substance has an auto ignition temperature of 405°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Information regarding auto flammability of SBA was sourced from CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics (81st Ed) and Fire Protection Guide to Hazardous Materials (13th Ed), which are known to contain peer-reviewed data of Klimisch-2 reliability. Based on the information obtained from the aforementioned handbooks, the substance has an auto ignition temperature of 405°C. This value is well above boiling point of 99.5°C, and it represents the lowest temperature at which vapours of SBA will spontaneously ignite in a normal atmosphere without an external source of ignition. No information on atmospheric pressure was reported.
