Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Hydrolysis half-life: <13 s (0.2 min) at pH 4, 7 and 9 and 25°C (OECD 111)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Hydrolysis half-lives of <13 s at pH 4, 7 and 9 and 25°C were determined in a reliable study conducted according to an appropriate test protocol, but not in compliance with GLP (DCC 2001). This is assigned as key study.

The other reported study (DCC 2002) was not designed to yield a quantitative measure of hydrolysis half-life at pH 4, 7 and 9. At pH 1.29 and 37°C, the test substance hydrolysed very rapidly and the hydrolysis products from the test substance underwent continuous, condensation reactions to produce higher molecular weight cyclic and linear siloxanes.
