Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The Henry Constant for TPP was calculated as 0.00228 Pa x m3/mole (25 °C). The log KOC was calculated to be 5.53 (BASF SE, 2018). The substance is, thus, considered not to be volatile, but to have a soil adsorption potential.

Nevertheless, this is a theoretical distribution due to the instability of the rarely dissolved part of TPP in highly diluted aqueous solution and not relevant for environmental conditions. At environmentally relevant low concentrations, triphenylphosphine will be oxidized to triphenylphosphine oxide. The Henry Constant for TPPO was calculated as 0.0000044 Pa x m3/mole (25 °C).

The log KOC was calculated to be 3.29 (BASF SE, 2018). Using a fugacity based model (Mackay Level I), triphenylphosphine oxide is predicted to appear mainly in the water compartment (BASF, 2018).
