Additional information

Acute tests on all three trophic levels were performed to examine the aquatic toxicity of Hexamethylene diisocyanate, oligomerisation product (biuret type). All acute tests on fish, aquatic invertebrates and aquatic algae resulted in nominal concentrations above 100 mg/L. Thus, 'Hexamethylene diisocyanate, oligomerisation product (biuret type)' is considered to be acutely not harmful to aquatic organisms.

No data on long-term toxicity on fish and aquatic invertebrates are available. The hazard assessment of Hexamethylene diisocyanate, oligomerisation product (biuret type) reveals neither a need to classify the substance as dangerous for the environment, nor is it a PBT or vPvB substance. Therefore, and for reasons of animal welfare, long-term toxicity studies in fish and aquatic invertebrates are not provided.
