Study period:
10-11 August 2010
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: GLP compliant, carried out according to recognised guideline
according to guideline
EU Method A.9 (Flash-Point)
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The test was performed by the help of MINIFLASH automatic flash point tester with the continuously closed cup – electric arc method according to ASTM D 6450.
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
closed cup
Flash point apparatus:
other: MINIFLASH automatic flash point tester
Dynamic viscosity of test material:
Not specified
Flash point:
> 200 °C
Remarks on result:
other: Atm. press. not detailed in the report.

The flash point of the reference substance Naphthalene was determined to be 82 – 80 °C, hardly deviating from the literature value ( 80 °C). In case of the test item three parallel tests were carried out.

The measured flash point of Reofos 65: no flash point was observed up to 200 °C.

No flash point was observed up to 200 °C.
Executive summary:

The flash point of Reofos 65 was measured: no flash point was observed up to 200 °C. The substance is not considered to pose a hazard by this route.

Description of key information
