Description of key information

Boiling point data were not available for any of the streams within this Category. However as the category consists of mainly C4 hydrocarbons, data were read across from hydrocarbon C4 substances (CAS numbers 107-01-7: 0.88°C (cis) and 3.71°C (trans), 115-11-7: -6.9°C, 106-98-9: -6.26°C, 25167-67-3: -6.27°C to 3.71°C, 75-28 -5: -11.73°C). All information came from a peer reviewed handbook (CRC, 2008). The boiling point range for this Category was therefore determined as -11.73 to 3.71°C.

The mean of the boiling point values for the category is -3.27°C and this has been used to complete the 'key value for chemical safety assessment'.
