Additional information

Measured ecotoxicity data are not available for the environmental toxicity endpoints. PNECs have not been derived for freshwater, saltwater, sediment or soil.

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII and VIII, the environmental toxicity tests do not need to be conducted if there are mitigating factors indicating that toxicity is unlikely to occur. This Category consists of streams which are gases at standard temperature and pressure and are expected to partition primarily to air; therefore environmental toxicity tests may not be relevant. In addition, it is technically difficult to maintain concentrations of gases for environmental toxicity testing.

Conclusion on classification

CAS Numbers 92045-23-3 and 95465-89-7 are both listed in Annex VI to CLP but are not classified for environmental hazards. Additionally constituent substances, butane, isobutane, butene, isobutene are listed in Annex VI to CLP but are not classified for environmental hazards. The acute toxicity results for substances which are representative of the streams in this category range from 7.7 to 27.9 mg/L and as the streams are considered to be rapidly biodegradable, none of the members of the category meet the criteria for classification as environmental hazards under the CLP. This Category would not be classified for environmental hazards.
