It consists predominantly of hydrocarbons having a carbon number of C4, predominantly 1-butene and 2-butene, containing also butane and isobutene and boiling in the range of approximately minus 12°C to 5°C (10.4°F to 41°F).

The acute toxicity results for substances which are representative of the streams in this category range from 7.7 to 27.9 mg/L and as the streams are considered to be rapidly biodegradable, none of the members of the category meet the criteria for classification as environmental hazards under the CLP. This Category would not be classified for environmental hazards.
