Description of key information

The boiling point range is 250 to 640°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Because of the complex nature of aromatic extracts a single numerical value for boiling point is not possible. Rather, a boiling range is exhibited, which reflects the individual boiling points of components present in the substance. The boiling point range for distillate aromatic extracts as measured by the ASTM D 1160 method was determined to be 200 to 640°C (CONCAWE, 2010a). Additionally, the boiling point range for distillate aromatic extracts as measured by the ASTM D 2887 method is 250 to 680°C (CONCAWE, 1992a).
