Description of key information

Based on data for its four main components, the water solubility of the substance EC number 905-559-2 (reaction mass of 4-vinylcyclohexene and cyclohexane and n-hexane and toluene) is expected to be in the range 9.5 mg/L to 587 mg/L at 24˚C to 25˚C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No information on the water solubility of the reaction mass is available. However, individual data on the four main components of the reaction mass is available from McAuliffe (1966) for n-hexane (CAS No. 110-54-3) (water solubility 9.5 mg/L at 25˚C), from O’Neil (2006) for cyclohexane (CAS No. 110-82-7) (water solubility 52 mg/L at 23.5˚C) and from Yalkowsky et al (2003a and b) for toluene (CAS No. 108-88-3) (water solubility 573 mg/L to 587 mg/L at 25˚C) and for 4-vinylcyclohexene (CAS No. 100-40-3) (water solubility 50 mg/L at 25˚C). This data is considered reliable and suitable for use.
