Description of key information

Ca: 291-365 mg/L
Al: 324- 390 mg/L
pH: 12.01-12.51
T: 20 °C,
measured at the maximum of conductivity, 0.03 - 1.83 h after adding the test item to water.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The results refer to the maximum of measured conductivity (determined by ICP-OES). Calcium and Aluminium are the only significantly measured elements in solution in spite of the more or less significant amount of other elements in the substance. The executed methodology differs from the usual OECD 105 procedure used to determine solubility of pure substances stable in water. Indeed, the substance has a complex mineralogy and reacts with water (dissolution – precipitation process) and not only dissolve. At long term solubility of the substance will be at the same level than Al(OH)3.
