Administrative data

First-aid measures

General advice: Move out of dangerous area. Consult a physician. Show the safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance.

Inhalation: Move to fresh air. Consult a physician after significant exposure.

Skin contact: Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Wash off with soap and plenty of water.

Eye contact: Flush eyes with water as a precaution. Remove contact lenses. Protect unharmed eye. Keep eye wide open while rinsing. If eye irritation persists, consult a specialist.

Ingestion: Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water. Do not give milk or alcoholic beverages. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Obtain medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:

- Water

- Carbon dioxide (CO2)

- ABC powder

- Dry powder

- Foam

Unsuitable extinguishing media:

- High volume water jet

Specific hazards during fire fighting: Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water courses.

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters: In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

Further information: Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. This must not be discharged into drains.

Fire residues and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Use personal protective equipment. Ensure adequate ventilation. Evacuate personnel to safe areas.

Environmental precautions: Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. If the product contaminates rivers, lakes or drains, inform respective authorities.

Methods for cleaning up: Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust). Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.

Handling and storage

Advice on safe handling: Avoid exposure - obtain special instructions before use. Smoking, eating and drinking should be prohibited in the application area.

Dispose of rinse water in accordance with local and national regulations.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Normal measures for preventive fire protection.

Requirements for storage areas and containers: Prevent unauthorized access. Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Containers which are opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage.

Further information on storage conditions:

- Incompatible with oxidizing agents.

- Incompatible with strong acids and bases.

Other data: No decomposition if stored and applied as directed.

Engineering measures: Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location. Highly effective exhaust ventilation

Personal protective equipment

Respiratory protection: In the case of vapour formation use a respirator with an approved filter.

Hand protection: Polyvinyl alcohol or nitrile- butyl-rubber gloves. The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the specifications of EU Directive 891686/EEC and the standard EN 374 derived from it. Before removing gloves, clean them with soap and water.

Eye protection: Tightly fitting safety goggles. Eye wash bottle with pure water.

Skin and body protection: Impervious clothing. Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance at the work place.

Hygiene measures: Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. When using, do not eat or drink or smoke. Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product.

Environmental exposure controls

General advice: Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform respective authorities.

Stability and reactivity

Conditions to avoid:

- Contamination

- Extremes of temperature and direct sunlight.

Stability: No decomposition if stored and applied as directed.

Materials to avoid:

- Oxidizing agents

- Bases

- Acids

Hazardous decomposition products:

- Tin oxide fumes

- Carbon oxides

Hazardous reactions

Note: No decomposition if used as directed.

Disposal considerations

Product: The product should not be allowed to enter drains, water courses or the soil. Do not contaminate ponds, waterways or ditches with chemical or used

container. Offer surplus and non-recyclable solutions to a licensed disposal company.

Contaminated packaging: Empty remaining contents. Dispose of as unused product. Do not re-use empty containers.
