Materials and methods

Test guideline
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility)
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Test substance (ca 1.0 g) was combined with distilled water (20 ml) in each of six 100 ml conical flasks. The flasks were firmly stoppered, covered in aluminium foil to exclude daylight and stirred at 30°C prior to equilibration at the test temperature of 20°C. The flask contents were stirred as indicated below:

Test Pre-equilibration Equilibration
(30°C) (20°C)
IA, 1B 3 Days 1 Day
2A, 2B 2 Days 1 Day
3A, 3B 1 Day 1 Day

Blanks were prepared and stirred as for the test solutions, omitting the test substance
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
flask method
Remarks:
flask-stirring method

Results and discussion

Water solubility
Water solubility:
10.2 g/L
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
> 5.54 - < 5.8
Remarks on result:
other: +- 1C
Details on results:
recoveries of 100.0 and 99.8% (mean 99.9%).
No peaks were observed at the retention time of the test substance for either of the blanks showing that the analytical procedure was free from interferences
