EC number: 274-307-5 | CAS number: 70084-85-4 The complex residuum produced by the distillation of tallow fatty acids. It contains primarily glycerides, C16-20 saturated fatty acids, C36 dimer acid, C54 trimer acid and heavier polymeric acids.

The octanol-water partition coefficient of the substance fatty acids, hydrogenated tallow, distn. residues (CAS No. 70084 -84 -5) was determined according to EU Method A.8 and OECD Guideline 117 (HPLC Method). The result obtained was log Pow from 0.814 to > 6.5, however using area normalization, 93.7% gave a log Pow of greater than or equal to 6.0. QSAR data for main single constituents of the substance (EPISUITE KOWWIN v1.68; Rekker method according to D'Amboise and Hanai, 1982) are in the range between 6.96 (KOWWIN, palmitic acid C16) and 8.23 (Rekker, stearic acid C18) and thus they are supporting.
