Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The acute toxicity key study was conducted on zebra fish (Brachydanio rerio) to determine the LC50 value of the test substance. Tween 20 served as a vehicle. The following test concentrations (nominal) were used: 10, 18, 32, 58, 100 mg /L. Small parts of the test substance were swimming at the surface of the tanks at 0 h and at 95 h exposure for all concentrations. Mortalities were recorded after 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours exposure and the fishes were examined daily for behavioural or other biological symptoms. In the 100 mg/L test group, 9 /10 fish died in the first 24 hours, all fish were dead after 48 hours. In the 58 mg/L test group, all fish were dead after 96 hours. No mortality occurred in the other test groups or in the control groups. Behavioural abnormalities concerning swimming behavior were recorded on all test concentration groups except for the lowest concentration tested. Other biological abnormalities were slight to moderate symptoms concerning loss of equilibrium and respiratory function and slight pigmentation (32 mg/L), severe symptoms indicating loss of equilibrium and light to moderate symptoms concerning respiratory function (58 mg/L) and severe symptoms indicating loss of equilibrium and moderate symptoms concerning respiratory function (100 mg/L). Based on these results, the following values were determined: LC50= 43 mg/L, LC0 = 32 mg/L, LC100 = 58 mg/L. No toxic effects could be recorded up to the water solubility of the compound.

In a 96-h acute toxicity study with CAS 65140-91-2, zebra-fish (Brachydanio rerio) were exposed to test item at nominal concentrations of 0, 10, 18, 32, 58 and 100 mg/L under static conditions.  The 96-h LC50 was > 100 mg/L.  Sublethal effects were observed in the concentrations 18 and 32 mg/L (swimming behaviour), 58 and 100 mg/L (swimming behaviour, loss of equilibrium and respiratory function). A detailed read across justification is attached to the specific endpoint study record. No toxic effects could be observed up to the water solubility of the compound.

In conclusion, there is a high probability that the product is not acutely harmful to fish.
