Description of key information

a) Flammability:
The substance is a not flammable solid. According to UN N.1 the substance did not burn down.
b) Pyrophoric properties:
Pyrophoric properties are determined following the methods N.3 (UN-Manual of testing) or A.13 (EU-method). However, in accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI, a study does not need to be conducted as it is scientifically unjustified. Based on experience during handling and use, no pyrophoric properties were observed and the structure does not give a reference to pyrophoric properties.
c) Flammability on contact with water:
The substance did not ignite spontaneously with water and did not liberate gases in hazardous amounts when tested according to EC Method A 12.
d) Self-reactive substances:
A weak exothermic reaction (-45 J/g) was detected at 200 °C. Based on the heat of decomposition (-45 J/g) it is expected that SADT is > 75 °C. Thus, the criteria for a self-reactive substance were not meet.
e) Self-heating substances:
A Grewer oven test showed no exothermic effects up to 380 °C. The substance has no self heating behaviour.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance did not burn down ( not flammable solid). Experience in production or handling show the substance is known to be stable at room temperature (no pyrophoric properties). The substance did not ignite spontaneously with water and did not liberate gases in hazardous amounts (contact with water)
