Additional information

A study was conducted according to Regulation (EC) No 92/96/EC, Annex A.10. The study determined the substance to be highly flammable solid.

Solids currently classified as F; R11 fall into Flammable solids, Category 1 or Category 2 and assigned H228. In addition to distinguish between Category 1 and 2 it is necessary to have data from a burning rate test and apply the criteria. Why, for reasons of product safety, the published data from GESTIS was used here for classification and labelling

The substance or mixture does not need to be classified as pyrophoric as based on chemical structure pyrophoric properties are not to be expected.

The substance or mixture does not need to be classified as a substance which in contact with water emit flammable gases as based on chemical structure flammability in contact with water is not to be expected.

The substance or mixture does not need to be classified as self-heating as the onset temperature is greater than 220 °C in the Grewer Oven test (screening test).

Justification for classification or non-classification

In accordance with Annex I, Section 2.2, Section 2.3, Section 2.7, Section 2.9, Section 2.10 Section 2.11, Section 2.12 of Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 and UN GHS Rev 6 (2015) the substance has not to be classified as self-heating substance in Class 4 Division 4.2, substances which in contact with water emit flammable gases in Class 4 Division 4.3, pyrophoric liquid, pyrophoric solid in class 4 Division 4.2, flammable gases in class 2 or as aerosol in class 2.

In accordance with Annex I, Section 2.1, the substance has to be classified as flammable solid, Cat.1 in class 4 Division 4.1
