Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The registered substance was found to be non-toxic to aquatic invertebrates, algae and fish. The 96 hour LC50 of the registered substance was >10 g/L in freshwater fish Cyprinodon variegatus (sheepshead minnow). Therefore, it is considered unlikely that the substance is toxic to fish. For freshwater invertebrates, a 48 hour toxicity study was done on Daphnia magna (water flea) where the EC50 was >100 mg/L. Since no toxic effects were observed at the tested concentrations it is proposed to adopt the conservative approach and use 100 mg/L for the purpose of classification. The test substance, is not considered toxic to invertebrate based on the results of this study. For aquatic algae, EC50 of 1417 and 168 mg/L for growth rate and yield respectively were extrapolated based on results on Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata. Aquatic algae is the only trophium for which actual toxic effects were observed, however, the concentrations tested were higher than those used for freshwater invertebrates, making it impossible to determine the most sensitive species.
