Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Justification for selection of skin irritation / corrosion endpoint:

ACD/Labs Percepta predicted ethylal as NOT SKIN IRRITANT. The prediction is considered moderate reliable, only one structural analog was identified being classified as slightly irritating.

Justification for selection of eye irritation endpoint:

The test article was a slight eye irritant. It caused slight erythema of the adnexa and staining of the nictitating membrane with fluorescein dye. Immediate washing did not noticeably alter the irritant reaction. All washed and unwashed eyes appeared clinically normal by 72 hours after administration of the test material.

Effects on skin irritation/corrosion: slightly irritating

Effects on eye irritation: slightly irritating

Justification for classification or non-classification

The QSAR prediction are that ethylal is not irritant. These data are confirmed by experimental results where only a slight reversible irritation might appear. Not enough irritation to consider classification.
