Description of key information

A test according to EU Method A.17 (Oxidising Properties (Solids)) was conducted in order to determine the oxidizing properties of the test substance Vanadium concentrate.
A preliminary determination was performed with a mix constituted of the testing substance and cellulose in 2:1 mass ratio. Then the sequential test has been performed in order to determine burning rate.
During the preliminary test, a blue/violet flame was observed in the contact zone with the flame. It extinguished after about 10 sec. Embers were visible under the first layer of dust. Smoking went on for about 30 min after flame extinguishing. The burned area covered about one third of the initial test sample.
The sequential test was performed with sample/cellulose mixes containing from 10 to 90 % of test sample with 10 % increments.
The results of this test demonstrate that the test substances Vanadium concentrate cannot be considered as having oxidizing properties.
