Purified Active

The sample mass tested was 7.95 mg. The thermogram shows a broad endotherm starting at 244.3 °C with a peak at 258.7 °C (onset at 259.3 °C), immediately followed by a sharp exotherm, representing a boiling point with decomposition.

Results from the scan are detailed in Table Definitive Boiling Point (Purified Active):

Technical Active
The sample mass tested was 7.55 mg. The thermogram shows three thermal events between 245 and 261 °C. The first was a broad endotherm which started at 244.6 °C, with an interpolated onset at 259.6 °C. The second was a sharp endotherm and was immediately followed by a very sharp exotherm at 260.9 °C.
Results from the scan are detailed in Table:

After all tests, a black carbon-like stain was observed in the pans. These events were considered characteristic of a boiling point with decomposition.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The boiling characteristics of test substances (purified and technical actives) were
evaluated by DSC to be as follows:
Purified Active: Boiling starts at 244.3°C (517.5 K) and is accompanied by decomposition
Technical Active : Boiling starts at 244.6°C (517.8 K) and is accompanied by decomposition
Executive summary:

An experimental study was performed to determine the boiling point of the test item according to EU Method EEC A2 and OPPTS 830.7220 using Differential scanning calorimetry.
Purified Active Ingredient: The boiling starts at 244.3°C (517.5 K) and is accompanied by decomposition.
Technical Active Ingredient: The boiling starts at 244.6°C (517.8 K) and is accompanied by decomposition.
