Additional information

A study was conducted to determine the uptake and elimination test material and its degradation products by bluegill sunfish (Lepomis sp.) exposed to constant levels of test material under conditions as described in Section 163.62-11(d), 163.165-3 and 163.165-4 E.P.A. proposed guidelines. The fish were exposed to either 0.50 ppm or 0.05 ppm test material in constantly flowing water and sacrificed at time intervals up to 30 days. Following this period, the remaining fish were placed in flow-through chambers without chemical and depurated for 14 days.

The bioconcentration factor (BCF) of the test material at the 0.05 ppm and 0.5 ppm treatment level was <85. Total 14C BCF's of 230 and 50 were determined for whole fish at 0.05 ppm and 0.5 ppm, respectively.

It is concluded that the potential for the test material, or its metabolites, to bioconcentrate in living organisms is minimal.
