Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A colour change was noted after addition of potassium permanganate and zinc reagents, but no temperature increase of greater than 5 °C was obtained. No reactivity or colour change was noted for ammonium phosphate and water; EPA OPPTS 830.6314; Nelson (2006).

Additional information

The oxidising and reducing action of the test material was investigated in a study which was conducted under GLP conditions and in accordance with the standardised guideline EPA OPPTS 830.6314. The study was assigned a reliability score of 1 in line with the criteria of Klimisch et al. (1997).

The reagents used in the study were potassium permanganate, monoammonium phosphate, zinc powder and deionised water. Observations of any chemical incompatibilities or temperature rises were recorded. A rise of >5 °C was considered to be significant.

During the study a colour change was noted after addition of potassium permanganate and zinc reagents, but no temperature increase of greater than 5 °C was obtained. No reactivity or colour change was noted for ammonium phosphate and water.
