non flammable

Additional information

Flammability (Solids)

The flammability (solids) of the test material was determined in a study which was conducted under GLP conditions and in accordance with the standardised guideline EU Method A.10. The study was assigned a reliability score of 1 in line with the criteria of Klimisch et al. (1997).

During the study the test material melted in the region of the ignition source and some light grey smoke was evolved. Ignition did not occur in any of the six tests. The test material was therefore found to be non-flammable.

Pyrophoric properties

In accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI, testing does not appear to be scientifically necessary as, based on chemical structure, pyrophoric properties are not to be expected.

Furthermore, experience of use determines that it is not scientifically justified to conduct the pyrophoric properties of solids and liquids study as there is no evidence of the test material either spontaneously igniting in air at room temperature.

Flammability in contact with water

In accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI, testing does not appear to be scientifically necessary as, based on chemical structure, water reactivity is not to be expected.

Furthermore, experience of use determines that it is not scientifically justified to conduct the flammability (contact with water) study as there is no evidence of the test material exhibiting flammable properties in contact with water.

Justification for classification or non-classification

In accordance with the criteria for classification as defined in Annex I, Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008, the substance does not require classification with respect to flammability.

In accordance with the criteria for classification as defined in Annex VI, Directive 67/548/EEC (DSD), the substance does not require classification with respect to flammability.
