Examination of the molecular structure of 1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethyl-2,2,2-trifluoroethyl ether establishes beyond reasonable doubt that the substance is incapable of showing a positive result in the test described in the EC A.21 guideline. The substance does not contain any functional groups that may act as an oxidising agent. Additionally, the oxygen atom present in the compound is bonded to a carbon atom, indicating that the molecule is oxygen deficient.
