Results and discussion

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The surface tension was not determined according to a procedure designed to be compatible with Method A5 Surface Tension of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008 and Method 115 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 27 July 1995 since the water solubility was determined to be less than 1 mg/L. The method guideline states that substances with a water solubility less than 1 mg/L need not be tested for surface tension.
Executive summary:

Under COLUMN 2 “SPECIFIC RULES FOR ADAPTATION FROM COLUMN 1” in the REGULATION (EC) No 1907/2006 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 18 December 2006, it states The study does not need to be conducted if: “the water solubility is below 1 mg/l at 20 °C". As stated in Envigo Research Limited Study Number: 41402856 WATER SOLUBILITY See IUCLID section 4.8. "Conclusion The water solubility of the test item has been determined to be 2.87 x 10-4 g/L of solution at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C.
