Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Details on test solutions:
PREPARATION AND APPLICATION OF TEST SOLUTION (especially for difficult test substances)
- Method: For each bioassay, the prepared test medium was then used as the dilution water to make a nickel concentration
series (added as NiCl2, 5 to 6 nickel concentrations and a control). Nickel concentrations in control
media were always below the method detection level (MDL) of the GF-AAS (see further), which is 3
μg/l.

Test organisms

Test conditions

Test temperature:
25 °C
Details on test conditions:
TEST SYSTEM
- Test vessel: Erlenmayer Flasks
- Material, size, headspace, fill volume: 100 ml size, each flask containing 50 ml test medium.
- Initial cells density: inoculated with 1.10E4 cells/ml of P. subcapitata.
- No. of vessels per concentration (replicates): 3
- No. of vessels per control (replicates): 3

GROWTH MEDIUM
- Standard medium used: yes

TEST MEDIUM / WATER PARAMETERS
- Source/preparation of dilution water:
All test media were prepared by adding different volumes of stock solutions of CaCl2 and MgCl2 to ISO medium (ISO,
1989) in which Na2-EDTA (100 μg/l) was replaced by 32 μg/l artificial dissolved organic carbon
(Aldrich Humic Acid AHA, Sigma-Aldrich Chemie, Steinheim, Germany).

OTHER TEST CONDITIONS
- Adjustment of pH: yes, The pH in the tests was controlled by adding 0.75 g/l MOPS (3-N-morpholinopropanesulfonic acid) to the test solution.
- Light intensity and quality: light table, no more information.

Reference substance (positive control):
