Description of key information

According to Column 2 of REACH Annex VII (standard information requirements for substances manufactured or imported in quantities of 1 tonne per year or more) of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, a study to determine the boiling point of a substance does not need to be conducted for solids which melt above 300°C.

The melting point (decomposes) of boron nitride is >2730°C (1)(2)(see section 4.2 of the IUCLID dossier).

Due to the inherent properties of boron nitride (solid with melting point >300°C), performance of a study to determine the boiling point is not required under Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH).
