Description of key information

Hexagonal boron nitride is an inorganic substance with poor solubility in water or organic solvents. It has no relevant functional groups that would suggest the ability to hydrolyze, adsorb or bioaccumulate. In addition, hexagonal boron nitride has no lipophilic functional groups or active transport relevant groups. Therefore, it is likely not to cross biological membrane and is generally not bioavailable for biodegradation or bioaccumulation processes. Based on its intrinsic properties, the environmental fate testing for hexagonal boron nitride is not necessary.
