Additional information

No experimental data are available. According to REACH regulation, Annex IX, section 9.3.2., column 2, no study regarding bioaccumulation needs to be conducted if the substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation (for instance a logKow < 3). N-methylaminoethanol has a measured logKow of -0.91, thus possessing no potential to accumulate in organisms. For completeness, calculations for the bioconcentration factor (BCF) of the substance were performed using several QSAR tools (OASIS Catalogic, VEGA, US-EPA EPIWIN (software BCFBAFv3.00) and T.E.S.T. The low bioaccumulation potential is thereby confirmed. The terrestrial bioaccumulation potential is no mandatory requirement under REACH for N-methylethanolamine.

Thus, N-Methylethanolamine is not expected to be accumulative in organisms due to the low substance specific logPow of -0.91.
