Additional information

The substance is characterised by properties that reduce concern for bioaccumulation potential: rapid hydrolysis to octadecenyl succinic acid, and rapid degradation in the environment (an analogue substance was shown to be readily biodegradable but failing the 10-day window). Therefore, direct and indirect exposure of the aquatic compartment is unlikely.

The bioconcentration factor (BCF) was estimated for both the substance and its hydrolysis product (octadecenyl succinic acid), with estimated values of 236.4 L/kg and 56.23 L/kg, respectively, as determined from QSAR modeling. These results indicate that the substance is non-bioaccumulative.
