Exp. duration:
6 h
Remarks on result:
other: Based on calculated maximum saturated vapour concentration.
Mortality:
None
Clinical signs:
other: None
Body weight:
With no control it is not possible to interpret the results. The females did appear to gain weight more slowly in first 7 days compared to days 7-14 and males.
Gross pathology:
None
Other findings:
No signs of toxicity were observed.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
not classified
Remarks:
Migrated information Criteria used for interpretation of results: EU
Conclusions:
Substance has a very low acute toxicity when tested by the inhalation route up to the saturated vapour concentration
Executive summary:

In an acute toxicity study by the inhalation route, rats were exposed to the saturated vapour concentration of 2 -(2 -methoxyethoxy)ethanol for a period of 6 hours. This is estimated to be 1.2mg/l. No signs of toxicity were observed. Clearly, the substance has a low acute toxicity by the inhalation route.
