stirred for the same length of time as other test solutions before
sampling, it is possible that this test solution was not completely
homogenous when the analytical sample was taken, hence the high
concentration. Unfortunately no further sample was available to confirm
this result. Due to the uncertainty this value, the nominal 10 mg/L
concentration was omitted from the statistical analysis. This did not
affect the endpoints (EC50, LOEC and NOEC) as the 50% effect was in the
nominal 5.0 mg/L concentration.
The effects of Alpha-terpinene on the mobilisation of Daphnia
magna was determined over 48 hours, according to OECD guideline 202.
A EC50 of 1.7 mg/l and a NOEC of 0.97 mg/l (based on geometric
mean measured concentrations) have been reported for this study.
Key study: Test method according to OECD 202, GLP study. The
effects of Alpha-terpinene on the mobilisation of Daphnia magna was
determined over 48 hours. An EC50 of 1.7 mg/l and a NOEC of 0.97
mg/l (based on geometric mean measured concentrations) have been
reported for this study.
