Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

NOEC (21 days, Daphnia magna) = 10.0 mg/l test item (nominal)

EC50, 21d > 32 mg/l (effect reproduction)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The toxicity of the test item to invertebrates and their reproduction was evaluated in a semi-static experimental study on Daphnia magna over 21 days, according to a guideline equivalent to OECD 211. D. magna were exposed to test media containing either 1.0, 3.2, 10.0, 32.0 or 100 mg/l test item, or a negative control containing test medium without test item (5 animals per flask; 10 animals per concentration) and were monitored for rate of reproduction and rate of survival for 21 days. Stability of the concentration of test media was analysed by measuring the concentration of test media: samples were taken from the control, 10.0 and 100 mg/l test media at 0, 48 and 72 hours after preparation, both with and without algae, and stock solution was monitored on test days 0, 7 and 16. pH level and oxygen concentration of the media containing the highest and lowest test item concentrations were monitored at the start and end of exposure periods throughout the test and the NOEC, 21 d resulted equal to 10 mg/l.

Based on the read across considerations same results apply to the target substance.
