Description of key information

The effects of test item on the growth of Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata was assessed in a study according to the requirements of OECD Guideline 201 under GLP (results in mean measured concentrations):

The 0-72h ErC10 for average specific growth rate was estimated to be 14.26 mg/L (95%confidence limits 8.34, 20.18 mg/L).

The 0-72 h ErC50 values could not be estimated due to estimates being greater than the highest concentration and are therefore concluded to be > 80.18 mg/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
14.26 mg/L

Additional information

A study was designed to determine the effects of Dodecane-12-lactam, manufacturing of,by-products from, distillation residues on the growth of Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata, a unicellular freshwater green alga, over a 72 h period. The study was performed to meet the requirements of OECD Guideline 201 under GLP (results in mean measured concentrations):

The 0-72h ErC10 for average specific growth rate was estimated to be 14.26 mg/L (95%confidence limits 8.34, 20.18 mg/L).
