Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The Reaction mass of diisobutyl hydrogen phosphate and isobutyl dihydrogen phosphate is:

- vP based on its non biodegradability and an half-life greater than 1 year (abiotic degradation).

- not B or vB based on the two main components experimental results, the registered reaction mass has a low partition coefficient (maximum log Kow = -1.67) , a low adsorption potential (maximum log Koc = 2.21) and is very soluble in water (lowest solubility = 27.5 g/L). The impurities are not expected to behave differently than the two main constituents. Based on these data, it is considered that the reaction mass has a low potential for bioaccumulation.

- not T based on the chronic toxicity result on algae (72h NOEC equal or above 100 mg/L) and its non classification as CMR or STOT-RE.

The Reaction mass of diisobutyl hydrogen phosphate and isobutyl dihydrogen phosphate was evaluated as non PBT or vPvB.

Likely routes of exposure:

Based on the information available on Environmental fate and pathways in section 5, the main compartment that is expected to be exposed to the registered reaction mass is the water compartment.
