Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

One reliable key study is available on the reaction mass. The experimental value of surface tension at 22°C of 1.07 and 1.11 g/ concentration range solutions was determined at 55.7mN/m. Therefore the reaction mass is considered to have surface active properties under the conditions of this test.

Additional information

One key study was carried out using a torsion balance for surface and interfacial tension measurements according to Method A5 Surface Tension of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008 and Method 115 of the OECD Guidelines for the Testing of Chemicals, 27 July 1995 and GLP. No deviation from the guideline was observed during the test.

The surface tension of 1.07 to 1.11 g/L solutions of test item in water has been determined to be 55.7 mN/m at 22.0 ± 0.5 °C. Substances showing a surface tension lower than 60 mN/m under the conditions of this test should be regarded as being surface active. Therefore the test item is considered to have some surface active properties.
