Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex X (section 9.5.1) sediment toxicity tests "shall be proposed by the registrant if the results of the chemical safety assessment indicates the need to investigate further the effects of the substance and/or relevant degradation products on sediment organisms". The Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, Chapter R.7B: Endpoint specific guidance (February 2016), section R. 7.8.7, page 135, specifies that a "log Kow of >= 3 is used as a trigger value for sediment assessment".

The log Pow of the registered substance <3. Therefore, accumulation of the registered substance in sediment and organisms is very unlikely. A PNEC sediment was calculated using the aquatic PNEC and the equilibrium partitioning method. Based on these characteristics the registered substance is not expected to cause adverse effects on sediment organisms and consequently sediment toxicity tests are not needed.
