Endpoint:
hydrolysis
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is highly insoluble in water

Description of key information

According to Column 2 of REACH Annex VIII of Regulaton (EC) No 1907/2006, amended by regulation (EU) 2022/477, testing of hydrolysis as a function of pH does not need to be conducted if the substance is highly insoluble in water or if based on the structure, the substance does not have chemical groups that can hydrolyse. Titanium diboride is practically insuluble in water and does not contain water sensitive chemical bonds/groups that would suggest the ability to hydrolyse. Therefore study on hydrolysis is not necessary.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
