Description of key information

According to Column 2 of REACH Annex VII of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, studies on aquatic toxicity do not need to be conducted if there are mitigating factors indicating that aquatic toxicity is unlikely to occur (e.g. the substance is highly insoluble in water or the substance is unlikely to cross biological membranes). Titanium diboride is an inorganic substance and does not contain any functional groups relevant for uptake across membrane, therefore, the toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria of titanium diboride is not necessary.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
