Additional information

Trisodium trimetaphosphate is an inorganic substance, biodegradation studies are not applicable. There are a number of studies indicating that under normal environmental conditions trimetaphosphate is degraded via hydrolysis. Due to the ring structure of trisodium trimetaphosphate it is necessary for hydrolysis to be catalysed, enzymatically or via Ca2+/Mg2+ ions. The ultimate degradation product of trimetaphosphate is orthophosphate.

A number of studies are included in IUCLID section 5.1.2 and IUCLID Section 5.2 and as such further testing is not considered to be necessary.
