Reference
Endpoint:
melting point/freezing point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
From July 30, 2018 to August 1, 2018
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study with acceptable restrictions
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 102 (Melting point / Melting Range)
Type of method:
differential scanning calorimetry
Melting / freezing pt.:
> 400 °C

Evaporation, reaction and/or decomposition of the test substance were observed during heating: melting of CR SR94 was not observed below the temperature at which evaporation, reaction and/or decomposition started.

Conclusions:
According to OECD 102, the melting temperature of CR SR94 is >400 degree.
Executive summary:

The determination of the melting temperature of CR SR94 was performed in accordance with OECD 102. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) was used. Evaporation, reaction and/or decomposition of the test substance were observed during heating: melting of CR SR94 was not observed below the temperature at which evaporation, reaction and/or decomposition started. Therefore CR SR94 has no melting temperature.

Description of key information

The melting temperature of CR SR94 is > 400 ℃.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
400 °C
